just thought i pass this along.
but the epa is comeing down with some new no play around rules.
all shops and must apply with the epa.
can be exception, yes. one way is to be the gov. and two is to be a hobbist that is non profit and does less than two cars a year. agian you must apply to be exempt, and expect a visit.
all exuasht filters must be 98% effeciant.
you must know how to do a dump test
all painters must be trained and documented
all guns must meet a 68% transfer effic. rate. also must be hvlp or rp.
easist way around this is to have a gun with the letters hvpl stamped on it, all other guns must have doc. on the transfer rate. and all sata jet 90 better be locked up with key. big fine it they show up and you have that your hand. if that's the case you better toss it in the can right then and there.
can not spray in the shop open anymore includeing primeing. it must be done in a booth with pos. presure or prep station with neg. pressure.
and the list goes on and on. you also can't put gun cleaner in the gun a spray it out unless it's in the booth.
so if your jober has not mention this too you please ask. since the big oops in the gulf, the epa is now under serious pressure and they will start slaping fines. the nice thing is you got untill jan. 1 or 11 to come into compliance.
