I'm not ready to go to water based yet. It probably won't be mandatory here in MA until 2015. I am thinking of moving on from DeBeers (valspar) soon due to how insane the pricing has gotten. Does anyone have any suggestions on who I should consider? I don't want to cheap out but something somewhere in the middle with good paint matching. I was thinking Sherwin-Williams?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Sherwin Williams is good stuff. Its just a little slow. Good color match also.

Sherwin Williams, PPG, Dupont.... Check your local guys besides what you have been using. Matrix has a good line that blends great and a fraction of all the others. Good luck finding a good supplier.

If you do use the matrix dont use the replacement tints use the whole system its works pretty good decent matches they have a conversion to match other paint systems like ppg and a great custom color line matches HOK very well.

We use Standox and are quite happy with it. I think Sikkens was a bit better, though; easier color matching and a little better of a product in general. They're both a lot of bang for the buck

My local jobber had prospray as the middle ground before the switch away from solvent.. He actually pushed it more than the PPG.

But, I'd probably call ProSpray to find out information.. Not some random guy named Chad?

Thanks to Jim's info, I was in touch with Chad. I was interested in Prospray's waterborne line, but he didn't carry it at that time. Don't know if he sells it now.
Chad has a thorough knowledge about the products he sells. And if he doesn't know the answer to a question, he doesn't BS you.
Nice guy too.
