I never worked at one, but I do auto financing and I get to see a lot of incomes. I have usually seen in the low $20 range. this is for just workers, not manager or owner or anything like that. Most recently I remember one guy making about $25 an hour with 4 years experience. I believe it's like a mechanic, if you do it faster than they say, you get paid for the full time. If you do it slower, sorry.

There are quite a few health hazzards, but you can protect yourself from them somewhat. Wear earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, etc.. When needed. I even wear my respirator when welding, after I saw something on TV about how bad welding fumes are for you.

You're right! There is all kinds of nasty stuff that can show up when you are welding, especially if you hit zinc or galvanize. I have seen ads recently for supplied air welding hoods! :!:

Also, with welding you need to use a respirator with a carbon filter of some sort. Welding fumes are a gas (as opposed to particles, like bondo dust), and carbon filters are the only thing that'll absorb gases. Sometimes they call them charcoal filters, too, I think.
