Hello,

I have small shop in North Hills (Sanfernando Valley area) and i'll
be looking to hire a bodyman sometime next year. My shop is small,
basically 2 guys (me the painter and a bodyman plus a helper).
I've become a decent painter but really lack bodywork experience,
aside from minor dents. I'm hopeing to find someone with at least
5 years of experience and a good attitude.

This shop that i aquired has a decent reputation, espceially among
the Korean population here. Around 80% is repeat business.
And i have nearly doubled the production of the former owner.
I'm looking to grow and would love to find someone talented willing
to grow with me.

I work hard so i expect the same with everyone working with me.
The quality of my shops work has been decent to very good
as compared with many of the local shops around me.

Please PM with your info if you're in the area and interested.
I'll be putting want ads out as well.

I would like to have as many names and numbers to call upon
sometime next year.

It sounds like you're off to a good start Han. How long have you owned this shop? How big would you like to be in the future? Are you doing mainly collision repair or a little bit of everything? Much respect for taking a risk and following a dream.

Thanx,

I mainly do collision repair and some other minor fun stuff.
I started last August (officially) and with the space i have,
there is room for 4-5 men (working tight). This is about
as big as i want to get. And working efficiently in my 6500 sqf lot,
i know i can do ok.

This year, i plan on getting 2 more fellas (painter and bodyman).
Tomorrow, i have a bodyman coming in for an interview. He sounds
good over the phone. I have my fingers crossed. I NEED someone
with the right attitude, willing to grow with me.

Here's how i grade myself so far:

1. Body work is about B
2. Paint jobs around a B+
3. Customer service A+
4. Customer satisfaction A
5. Production rate C+/B

It's kinda subjective but i'm grading myself from feedbacks and
return business.

Ha!

Ok, you DID say sanding. Boy, you have NO IDEA what you're asking!
Hmm.... i have a few interesting projects that come around once in a while.
It could be a custom sub box, custom stereo mount, or a flame job.
I'll let you know then you can sand til your arms fall off!
And i'll let you paint 'em.

Nice! and I like to work on Z cars ONLY! jk...

I could always use more business but i am swamped for the moment.
Collision repair is steady and takes most of my time. However, things will
be changing here in a few months. We also do mechanical repairs as well
but this will be phased out; and will only do these repairs as it relates
collision. It's complicated really.

Custom work is another beast altogether. I'm planning on it, and after
i steal all the information from these unsuspecting pro's, my time will come

Check out: www.hotrodders.com and www.**********.com (the forum)

The information is a bit more "advanced" than what you normally find here.
I like to call it: Autobody 500 :)

Anyhow, if you got folks interested in having b-kits painted give
me a call. I'll do it but i'm SLOW, only because of priorities; collision
repair is first. But to save time and money, maybe you can have
the b kits already prefitted.
