So I am in a bit of a dilemma, with my 93 F-350 crew, I was just working on the rear door panels and could not remove them for nothing, I know the window felt needs to come out and the panels will slide out. The felts are very brittle and the replacements are like $200 for inner felts, plus besides if I damage the perfect interior door panel with removing they are very costly too. The problem is that I am unable to get to the door handles to remove in order to paint. I can get to the fronts just fine and have already ordered the rubber gaskets to replace for the re-installation, for all 4. I plan on doing a thinned epoxy on the prepped body as a seal coat. then a single stage same color.

My question is: How much will this impose as paint failure if I do not remove the handles on the rear 2 doors? For that matter I am not sure of even removing the exterior window felts either (but I can find those for $60 +/-)

You should be able to remove the panel with out damaging anything.

As a general rule to follow any time your working on anything "If its not coming apart easy Your doing something wrong!!!!" In which case you need to STOP and seek out the Proper information in this case a manual the Factory Body Service Manual.

I have a 93 F250 single cab, sorry cant say I ever pulled the rear door panels from it as its not a crew cab I also looked on You tube for a good video of it but no joy at least not any that said 93 exactly.
I would seek out a copy of the Factory service manual at local Library OR a Dealer and photo copy pages I needed. When I cant find the manual at Library I then go too a dealer and Politely ask service department for what I need. I have NEVER been denied a request for a Copy of a service procedure at ANY dealership as long as I didn't ask for the whole manual and I was Polite.

As far as detrimental to Paint a lot of people paint cars and trucks without pulling door handles and such they just mask it off. Will it show? most definitely especially to the Trained eye It will leave a Hard Tape line for sure, But I don't think it would be detrimental to the paint itself as far as a failure goes.

Thanks, the biggest concerns is breaking stuff as it is brittle, then finding it. I am searching the window felts right now. Most are not reproduced which makes stuff that is "perishable" difficult to find. Used door panel can be repaired and or purchased with time. Window felts would more the proverbial needle in a haystack to find used in good condition. I might just buy the outer ones and see what I can make for the inners. Have to research other vehicles to see what would come close and work with it. Thanks again, very happy it wont cause paint failure, I can live with an "edge" around the handles if I have to. It just my run around vehicle to haul stuff etc. its going to get scratched up over time.

Yeah I have the outer ones, its the inners I cannot locate. I have a set of inners for the front different being that they do not have the upward turns on both sides I am going to see if I can use them. Have to see if the clips line up first. I cannot remove the inner door panels without removing those and they are super brittle. Thank you for looking for me! I think its crazy they built quite a few crew cabs during those years f250/350 and some parts are really scarce.
