2019 Kia Sorento.
I have two estimates, one says they will repair the hood and the other says they will replace it. The replacement would cost about $500 more. Opinions on the best option?

That's kind of a personal call on your part.

Seems a shame (waste) not to repair.

It's not much damage.

Appreciate the replies.

I did a poor job of explaining myself. I really don't know anything about body repair. I don't really have a problem going either way, but just wondered if there was a clear reason to go one way or the other...i.e. is there anything about the location of the damage that makes it more difficult to pull out and fix, and thus increase the risk of having it look sloppy when it done?

Is it an OEM Hood or aftermarket?
If its OEM hood after some paint you have a Flawless repair, If its aftermarket run away! repair original.

:goodpost: YOUR ON IT Dennis. you most likely won't be at all happy with an aftermarket hood. that repair is not as easy as it looks for a GOOD repair. its double walled most likely, making it some what difficult. one could probably straighten the edge with a hammer and dolly then pull the dent with a stud gun. i have cut the inside panel out enough to straighten this sort of thing then weld the piece back in. probably a couple hours. then agian a 1/2 quart of Bondo would fix it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
