What are people's thoughts on wetting the floor before? Wouldn't the moisture get sucked in your paint as it evaporates?

I wet the floor when doing base or clear - sometimes only on clear. Amazing how much crap you'll keep from getting in your work... If you have enough water on the floor to affect the way the paint flashes or cures, you're gonna find yourself with other issues - like filing claims on your flood insurance.
Think about it, people paint all the time on hot and high humidity (85% +) days without issue - other than it just plain sux to be in a paint suit in that temp or humidity. It's doubtful you're gonna affect the humidity in your booth profoundly by wetting down the floor. Peace Through Superior Firepower

Yeah I wet the floor in the shop that I paint in, and also in the spray booth that I rent. It really does help.
The biggest problem with having the floor wet is splashing water in the wet paint by walking (so walk softly) and getting wet knees Dr. Auto Car Repairs http://www.doctorautorepair.com

This is almost as good as the filler before epoxy or after epoxy debate.

Yes you can.. I usually clean the the floor the day before and then put down 36" masking paper all aroun the bottom of a car when painting in my home garage.. it does keep things cleaner, however if the walls and everything else in your garage is filthy, you are still more than likely going to have dirt issue's [Quote from Quincy Jones]
