I bought some Eastwood rat rod satin black single stage urethane paint and activator. On the can and in a video it said that it didn’t need reduced. I tried some on a bumper and some small parts and it seemed really thick and coarse and I had to lay down really thick coats. I was really worried that it would run here, and orange peel there, but after it dried it looked pretty decent. I was using HVLP with a 1.4 nozzle at about 30psi. I would hate to go thru this on my entire truck, I think I would go crazy…lol.
I went back to their website and in the customer reviews some guys stated that it needed reduced, one guy said he used 4:1:1 with good results, but could have gone farther. I want to try 4:1:1 on some pieces and nail down a mixture that works for me before doing any major painting.
I have some R-M UR40 & UR50 I’m thinking either of those, depending on temp, should be ok. But, I just want to ask to make sure. Plus any other thoughts or anyone ever used this paint?
