i'm about ready to start spraying my primer and i've heard & read
about, the dryer and cleaner you can get your air the better it is.
researching air dryers i've seen that the 3 stage filters run about 400$$
i only paint alittle, but the car i'm painting now is one i'd like to be as nice as possible within reason.
is there any dryers that do a good job for home use that don't cost 400 or more, or are the 3 stage filters that good, and make that much difference that i should spring for one.
from the new gun i bought (dev.gfg670)and the price i found on ppg bc/cc
i guess i shouldn't complain.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

i seen alot of people make there own dry by using a coil of copper tube.At the front of the tank. Then a normal oil/water filter. like

. some let it air cool other put the coil into cold water. others use old

Also seen people just put a midsize water/oil filter at the end of a 25foot hose. then hook it to there belt then another small 5 foot hose to the gun.

Main thing you need to do is cool the air befor it goes into the water/oil filter.



Does you tank have a water tab? if so you already has one *basic* cooler/filter build in. (need another) . Rememeber to drain the tank befor painting.

How high is your humidity ? IF your in arizona or somthing you not going to need as good of a setup as someone say in portland oregon where its 80%+ alot of the time

I dont paint all the often so my setup is just a normal oil/water filter then a disposable filter at the end of the gun. I havnt had any problems.

At $19.99 it's a ridiculously good deal, and it actually works rather well for a home-occaisional setup.
I also use the small disposable inline filters right at the gun, and change them after a couple of jobs.
