Finding the 2# spool is the hard part, and I would suggest a lot of practice with if mig welding SB. Getting the correct temp is important, I played with it some and found that in the beginning it looked good, but was possible to chip it off. Obviously it can be done, so just practice first.
Granger $43.60 for 2#

Ebay --- Zorro $35.79 but some others on ebay are cheaper.

I just wanted the OP to be aware of what he is dealing with.He has a brand new car that I hope gets repaired properly for whoever is going to ride in it.
For the record Honda requires an open butt joint with silicon bronze to be used in a mag welder in order to maintain the ultra high strength steel of the two panels plus corrosion resistance in the joints. The remaining flanges need to be attached with squeeze type resistance spot welding.. It would be a good idea to avoid an oxy/acetylene torch as it will weaken the car and tig welding will wreak havoc on the electronics. Please contact Honda or look it up in the icar portal.I realize you can do what ever you like but Im just trying to urge him for a safe repair. This is not like welding a new cab corner on an old resto |

for sure the day has come when you can't just cowboy them together. my boy has worked on several hi end sports cars and with a couple they sent a factory rep. to watch and make sure the repair was done properly.

Thanks Jason for sharing your professionally gained experience, I'm sure this will help several people on the site in addition to the OP.
