I am considering this Jeep project. The problem I am concerned about (among others) is that there is some bedliner on external panels in places. How difficult will this be to get off? I would like to avoid sand blasting the whole thing.

It’s only the black on the hood and lower trim.

Nice Jeep (Commando?)

About the only way to get that stuff off is with a propane torch and putty knife.
Heat a small area to get it soft, and scrape it off with a wide blade. Then you can use 80 grit sandpaper to clean the residue off.

Maybe that wont be too bad.....it is only the black.

72 Jeep Commando. I was hoping that it was just two toned but got there and the black is bedlined.

You might just "luck out" and find that bedliner to be some of the air catalyzed type. Duplicolor sold that in rattle cans and guys would use it to "trim out" just like this. Heat gun would loosen up that stuff easily......

Yep, heat and scraper followed by rag and lacquer thinner. Just watch out for wiring that is close to where you are applying heat.
