Hello everyone first post here. Never painted anything before, but I am a quick learner.
I started to sand my fender for a GM black respray . As you can see the fender is red. It was actually spray painted black, but I sanded it down with 180 grit and am now at this point. The fender is straight with no body work needed. Is this ready for primer or do i need to take it down to bare plastic?
To be completely honest, I have no idea what a decent prep for primer should look like, but this is where I’m at. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

After 180 grit, it is ready for primer.
Some like to sand up to 320 but if you use a good 2K urethane primer, 180 scratches are no problem. Just guide coat your primer and sand to 600 before paint. JC.
