I have some lechler macrofan lacquer and hardener that is about 4 years old and has been stored in an unheated garage. Also got green ti primer.
Question, is the paint still usable on my new project car. Dont want to ruin a paint job but hate waste as well.
Old paint supplies.

If it's been frozen, I'd definitely not use it. Otherwise, open a can and take a look at it to see if it's separated or partially dried out. I'd still do a test spray on something before committing it to a project.
I think what you call lacquer is what we in the colonies call enamel? The reason I say this is that our lacquers don't require a hardener, they're air-dried. Your hardener might be solidified by now, especially if it's previously been opened. "If you can't move it, paint it." - U.S. Army

Unlike latex based materials solvent based materials will not freeze with winter weather temps, I never move my paints/primers/solvents in from the shop.
Mix up a test batch and give it a try! |

I would try a Test panel with Fresh hardener, If it looks ok and after a good shaking it still looks ok give it a try with FRESH Hardener. If its been too cold t will have separated and gone bad, Never trust Old Hardener or old Activator buy fresh! Dennis B.
