Just as the title says, I have a replacement truck bed that I need to color change to white, its currently a pewter metallic color. I planned to use epoxy primer over it, and then paint white base and clear from nason. Just not sure if I should use white, or gray colored primer, I suppose gray so I can see where I sprayed, if I remember correctly it should be close to the color I'm spraying?

This is kind of a toss-up. Yes, you can better see the coverage if white is going over a light gray primer. But on a truck bed, which gets lots of chips and scratches, white over white primer might not show wear as badly...

I'm interested in what others say about this... :pcorn:

White is a tough color to paint in my experience. Doesn't matter what color you are painting over you eventually reach the point where it's white on white. It's like being snow blind in that you have a tough time seeing where you put a second coat on. You have to be methodical in your application, starting at the exact same place each time and following the same path keeping your overlap the same, etc.

white sealer either epoxy or urethane before you paint.

another thing to consider is "edge mapping" spraying basecoat directly over primer areas and fether edges will cause the solvents to attack those edges leaving "raised lines" in your paint. sealer will usually not always but will help prevent this.
