Hello everyone,
I am restoring a very rusty VW super beetle and this is what i have in mind for the paint:
- Scuff whole car with 80 grit, opsho where needed and reactivate then wash it off with soap and water.
- Spray 2 coats of zinc phosphate epoxy primer (tech sheet attached) then do filler work
- Within recoat window, Do a coat of high build primer (Acrylic Hydroxide cross linking with Isocyanate)
- Block sand (not sure what grits but i think 220-300-400-600)
- Base and clear (thinking with cheap Harbor freight HVLP purple gun)
With this daily driver im hoping for an ok looking solid paint job.
Any advice or comments very appreciated, thanks guys.
Zed
Link to tech sheets, my primer is the zinc phosphate epoxy primer.

Will these paints work well over one another?
