So I'm doing my own rust repair on my car's roof and I've primed the surface, wet sanded (smooth to the touch) and put two coats of paint on it. It dried overnight (weather is about 10°C)

Why does it look uneven? What should I do??? Help!

Let me guess, you are trying to paint a car with rattle cans?

Yes, I am a student in debt on a budget, just want to see if there's a proper fix for this from anybody whos experienced this before. Might try another pass of wetsand and make sure there are no rough spots

UPDATE: I sanded the whole thing down until it had a slightly reflective finish, then applied another two colour coats, followed by 3 coats of clear.

I think my main problem was that i wasnt washing the surface down well enough to get rid of overspray, because it looks great now. Will post pictures after the clear coat is wet-sanded and buffed!

P.S. you guys were no help :?

In reality they tried to give help by immediately pointing out it was rattle can, which the pros here don't use or recommend. In any event glad it turned out okay for you after all.
