Switch to Waterborne to match color in a home shop?

Check out YouTube. There is a PPG channel that shows the difference in coverage and control coats. If the car was repainted don't count on waterborne to match any better. You have to realize that the paint on there is not Envirobase, so it may be slightly off.

This is where us home guys really come up short. The ability to tint colors with the use of a mix bank is the only option sometimes. Or a really large blend panel and a little skill. The guys at the stores aren't usually the best at tinting. They may be ok, but they are usually limited.

The lack of red and darkness is probably due to the age of the paint. Red fades out relatively quickly and colors lighten up.

Seems like a fairly easy color to tint, but who knows.
