Hi guys i have a questions that i am not sure about regarding my new car coming tomorrow.

in the past since I have a hoist i have rustproofed many cars with a oil spray from rust check the underside, doors etc. but find it messy to work on and dont trust it on plastics or rubbers etc

since this is my first NEW car I am thinking differently this time.

was thinking to use a asphalt coating first then let fully dry few days then in the frame rail holes use common oil based rust proofing that I can get wand into

love to hear your thoughts on this new ride

I have my other car (1996 impala ss) that i did in asphalt coating and very happy with it but that car is not winter used like my new one will be.

I like how the asphalt stuff says "alive" compared to the rubber stuff which will dry and crack off.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd probably want to first check to make sure I'm not violating any warranty terms. On our trucks we've been using a product called "fluid film", but it does have to be reapplied periodically. I like it because it's not really permanent.
