Someone just pointed out to me that at the "ess pee eye" forum you can no longer say the name Tamco -- it's being filtered out by settings on their forum. Guess they are more afraid of the brand than I thought.

I was going to take the high road and just ignore this nonsense. But I had a little too much coffee this morning.

Therefore starting immediately, to assure our respective child-like behavior equality, this site will no longer allow the name of that brand to be mentioned. The site filters are updated.

I'm also going to run a 10% off sale on all Tamco products, to celebrate this news. Coupon code: TAMCOROCKS10 -- use it at the online store here.

This is a limited time sale, so stock up now :-)

I was singled out and received an email for mentioning Tamco on the aforementioned site.
Seems there is some personal history there?

I will not take sides in this issue because I like and use both product lines, however I understand completely and will abide by Chris's decision.

I hate crap like this. I go through this with wood restoration finishes/products as well. I used to have a sales rep. stop in to my shop that would pick-up and rattle my cans and start writing up orders and get this....tossing cans of the competitors products off my shelves. I grabbed him and tossed him out of my shop..... So I guess nothing has changed....
As said by Coronet already I also use products from both lines now, and yes, Chris you are large and in charge here so what you say goes......

I'm missing something here ? Who's the other Company and web sight?

I personally haven't used Tamco products YET but I am sure they are fine Products.
They have many many good reviews.

Seriously Chriss I would stay out of it! Don't drag this web sight down with a Product war.
There are many more products mentioned and used on this web sight that shouldn't be All the time all because most are new to the Hobby and don't know better.
To do for one would require to do for All....Just my opinion.

Case in point :
Personally I don't care for Eastwood I think they are over priced and that they sell products marketed to new people in the hobby that is known to be junk or substandard for the job for which they are advertising it for such as the Panel Gap clamps.
That doesn't mean that they don't have some good stuff though and many here buy from them regularly.

Product endorsement or Product black listing is a touchy thing it could come back and Haunt you.

Okay, just having some fun.... Can we say **********? But we can't say **********. Like ********** is no longer viable....and every time I say ********** it gets the crap filtered out of it.....
Wow, that' a pretty darned effective filter...... Sorry, Chris, I couldn't help myself......

Well, that other site is a brand specific site......................
It is owned and operated by that brand FOR that brand.
I wouldn't go to a Ford operated site and advertise Chevy.
So I'm OK with that, And I don't use either one right now
but to each their own.

If you go to a Ford owned discussion forum and mention the word Chevy - do you think you get an email telling you not to do that anymore, and also a site-wide filter of the word "Chevy"?

Nobody was 'advertising' Tamco over there.

JCClark,
While that is true, they do allow other brand names to be mentioned in the forum discussions. Some of which we know are junk.
