Therefore starting immediately, to assure our respective child-like behavior equality, this site will no longer allow the name of that brand to be mentioned. The site filters are updated.

Yeah, I hope that Chris is just joking and taking the high road. I have definitely enjoyed the free flow of information from this website. I am always telling non-paint, non-car type friends how impressed that you experts on this site will take the time to answer my rookie weekender hack questions.

I'm also going to run a 10% off sale on all Tamco products, to celebrate this news. Coupon code: TAMCOROCKS10 -- use it at the online store here.

This is a limited time sale, so stock up now :-)

That is just awesome!!

Must be a mistake, a "glitch" in the system?.
I see many make of paint advertised over there, no issues at all. Why would they single out Tamco? Barry seems like a very straight shooter to me.

I think it would be pretty odd to have a glitch that composed and sent emails to members telling them to not mention Tamco, and also turn on a forum word filter to strike out the name Tamco from any posts. I'd say that's pretty much impossible. I have a theory on why and also on how straight the shooting is these days...but I will keep that to myself.

Did you try the Tamco products yet?

Coupon code TAMCOROCKS10 for 10% off all orders. And my personal endorsement based on using these products on everything from soccer mom minivans to high end European cars and vintage restorations. Zero issues and a long list of happy customers. Not to mention the many (many) people here who continue to use the products.

There's a fine line between "just mentioning" and advertising.
Companies do it all the time, "just mentioning",
they do get their "plug" in that way.
Some call them "trolls"

When in Rome, do as the Romans!
If you want to go on a ********** site, talk **********,
otherwise it's just rude.

And to band the name on a site like this that is not
brand specific, now that is childish.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, on that site go ahead and talk about a good experience with - or even simply the fact that you used:

PPG
Transtar
Nason
Wanda
etc.
etc.

See what happens. Then, mention Tamco - and your post gets deleted or modified.

Nobody is 'trolling'.

I know you are a fan of theirs and that's fine...but let's call it like it is.

And by the way that site is a PUBLIC site no matter what you want to call it. If they want to make it closed it's easy to do - allow login for only customers and keep the forum posts hidden from public view. Companies that run actual brand-specific forums for their customers do that all the time.

And yeah - I am being childish about this. I said that from the get-go.

Any banning of a product here is NOT the best interest of this site. Period!
Put your personal feelings aside,
Be professional and do what's best for this site.
Just because they do it, doesn't mean you should,
that's the childish part.

This is my favorite auto forum, I don't want it to exclude
any brand. This forum will not benefit from that.

I have to agree with JC

Autobody101 means = BEGINNERS LEARNING A NEW SKILL!
To ban mention of a Product is a disservice to those that come here for the purpose of the intention of the forums name and intent.

You attached and run a THIRD PARTY ONLINE RETAIL STORE to the forum that's great you have every right too! BUT You should offer both product lines in my opinion OR not that again is up to you. If it were mine I would.
But to get into this Hoopla is bad business and worse its disservice for the current and future members learning.

You need to seriously ask your self whats more important your support for a Brand OR the Web sights integrity & intent for both the current Members and the future members of the Autobody101 web community.

Of course I will. In time. But for now:

- I've never backed down from bullies. Not about to start.

- This silly dust-up has been fantastic for sales. The ********** guys should annoy me more often, it seems to be a real help :goodjob:

Anyway, please nobody stress over this. It's all good.

Please start more of these "silly dust-ups" - I took advantage of the sale! Thanks again!

Please feel free to add more products/manufactures such as FBS tapes, 3M sandpaper, Evercoat G2 Feather Fill, Beer, sandwiches etc etc etc! And then add a discount!

BTW, my goal in life is to have the time to stress over a forum from my hobby!!
Thanks for providing this site and all the help!
