I'm starting to get ready to paint some of my black brackets, cross members, etc.... and I have half a gallon of PPG Defleet single stage urethane enamel in a flat finish. I would like a gloss finish on some parts and was wondering if I shot some urethane clear coat which I have left over from painting the car, will it cross link with the single stage urethane enamel. I could buy a gallon of gloss single stage but don't want to spend the $150. The clear I have is Matrix MS-42 and the single stage is PPG Defleet. Will it work??? or am I asking for trouble?
