Hey everyone. I've seen "tape time" on several tech sheets, but I can't find what that means. For example, I'm looking at the tech sheet for SEM Hot Rod Black, and it says:
Air dry time - 16 hours
Tape time - 24 hours
Is this the time before I can safely apply tape for additional coats, pinstripes, etc?
Thanks
What is meant by "tape time"

Baically, yes. It's the time the paint takes to dry all the way through so that tape won't pull it off when removed.

all I can say is there are other factors (weather, application) that inter into dry times. 90% of the time you'll be ok its the other 10 % that gets you. it won't pull the paint off it just leaves indentations in it from the tape from the paint still being not fully cured.
