All good, I actually found some not sold by Eastwood, Eastwood have them but won’t ship to Australia, another brand on a Camaro website, Magna-trim rivets apparently work perfectly, so I have ordered some in.
Need to unscrew the ones that someone has replaced in the past with sheet metal screws and will grind all the old ones off now. Love using the stud weld gun, so will do some practicing when they arrive and replace them all on the front and rear window frames

be sure to check the weld of the studs. its real disappointing to be installing the trim and have some of the studs break off. I had trouble getting them to stick, its a fine line on the trigger. to much and you burn a hole and not enough and it won't hold good. also be sure and measure were they go so you know after you grind them off depth is critical. good luck

I have tried replacing a few with my Stud gun and I cant get them down low enough in the corner channel with my current set up on my gun, Its just too big to fit down low enough.

Dennis, I have the Spotter JR. and had the same problem. i used a couple different sizes of soft copper tubing to make an extension. just so happens the small size fit the nipple and the larger size fit the socket. and the smaller one fit inside of the larger one, I then sweat them together. the nipple end was a good fit I did go around it a few times with a tubbing cutter to swage it in a little the other end at the socket I swaged it out just a little. I only used it couple time but it worked good. I just went out and looked for it but I must have loaned it to someone, I loose a lot of stuff that way.

Thanks, I will do a few test runs and test times to make sure I have it right before doing the car. Steve |
