Ok thanks for the help, now I just have to figure out why it’s so bad now and not before. I washed and painted the ceiling this fall. I recently blew out the furnace and washed down the garage door then blew out the garage. Never close to when I paint so it won’t be in the air. I blow my clothes off outside. I’ll give it a real good cleaning and get a suit and let you know how it goes.

I used to do the same as you described. Once I got the suit and started wiping down the air hose the dust problem was reduced drastically.

Ok just wanted to do an update, I finished the project I was working on and it turned out great. I have since started a new project and switched back to ppg clear and my clear coat is back to not having all the bumps in it. Not sure if it was the clear or not but I’m just happy I’m done with the headache.

So what clear were you trying when all the problems erupted?

I was using transtar kwik gloss, I was only doing one panel at a time so I figured I’d give it a try. The guy didn’t want to buy high dollar stuff since it was an older truck, and my dad said he always had good luck with it so I figured I’d give it a try.

Now don’t get me wrong I still get some dirt nibs but nothing like before.

What caused the bad scratch on the side of that really nice green paint job? |
