So I purchased one of those wet sand blasting conversions to go on the end of pressure washer
I called my dustless sand blasting guy he charging me 650 to do it and honestly I can use that money to buy some panels rust repair panels or something so I'm going to test try it on my hood see how cost effective it would be and make decision from there. But anyways after wet blasting need to keep this thing from flash rusting and looked at couple spray on things but wd40 specialist suppose to be and can be used as a inhibitor. Do anyone foresee any paint problems once I get going. More likely give every panel a good surface sand before working on but I'm going to glaze the whole car and block it over on bare metal and epoxy prime it over body filler. And I know I can prime it once done but I was hoping to give me some metal fab and welding time before I put 1st coat of primer on it

You will need to be extremely careful not to warp the hood.
I wouldn't put anything on bare metal but epoxy primer and especially not an oil based product.

If I were doing it this would be the order:
1. strip the car and wash it real good to get all the sludge out of the seams and crevices.
2. Wipe with wax and grease remover and let flash.
3. Spray two coats of epoxy over the entire car, inside and out.
4. Rather than "glaze the car" I would shoot polyester primer (G2 Featherfill, Slicksand, etc.) it is basically spray on filler.

Sometimes our attempts to save money end up costing us a lot more. You need to do a lot of research before blasting, and don't use oil base products before paint. Holdtight-102 has a reputation for preventing flash rust after wet or dry blasting with no residue, but must be applied with pressure.

:goodpost: I'll be interested in how your equipment works. I use to do commercial sand blasting ( big stuff ) and we had a water blaster that we tried a few times. if I remember right we use iron phosphate to slow down the flash rust, zinc phosphate will work also. we never did get good results with the water blaster it just didn't work good.

Don't let WD40 get within a hundred yards of your paint area or what
you are painting. You are better off letting it flash rust than get that
stuff on your metal. You can always lightly sand the rust off but WD40
is every painters nightmare. It can haunt you forever.

Have a look to see if you have an Axalta distributor nearby.

They have a new process applied with wipes that might be very suitable for you.

Mentioned in this video, Jay.

A bit OT but I've been talking to my distributor about the 6700 clear. 30 minutes at 20C is very attractive for me with a non-heated booth.
