Well I got my car wet blasted to bare metal. My overall goal in this stage is to do all my metal work 1st quarter patchs, door patch panels and pull whatever dents I can feel and see. But my plan is to go black on car so want it laser straight. I'm thinking on after metal work completed to coat whole car in Layer of Rage Gold body filler and block down. Then epoxy coat it all in and then throw some 2K high build primer on and block it down and work on razor blade body lines and then seal it in with a 1k sealer. Do you think I should epoxy 1st

Yeah, vote #2 on epoxy.... Black, huh?......man are you gonna be busy for quite some time..... I think before I would be jumping into all that filler I'd consider an overall shoot with a polyester primer (Slick Sand, Feather-Fill, etc.) through a nice big tipped gun...... block all that down, then just see how much filler you need.... Last black Camaro that pulled up next to me at a show....I could see every bit of body work he had done from end to end....not pretty.....

:goodpost: shoot epoxy then come back the next day and spray the polyester filler no sanding required to the epoxy.

As above, epoxy first but do try to get the metal straight before filler. The more bog you put in a job like this the higher the likelihood that it will fail, and that would be a shame.

Just curious why you blasted so much chrome and all your side glass?
Most of us remove All that stuff first, seams a shame to ruin so many parts.

Just me but I would just start on Metal work Spray the Metal down with Pickle X and forget about it till ready for Paint.

I use another Product myself Dupont 5717 and 5718

The side windows was covered with cardboard and duct tape the blast media didnt hurt it but the chrome bumper and few emblems I left on I got blasted only because they was already pitted and wouldnt be reused

Most of us would have removed the Glass completely and all the Chrome regardless if we planned to reuse it or not. Always sell the stuff not reused. One mans Trash is anthers Treasure.
Parts Like the Door pulls I would think they are available in the aftermarket BUT available replacements May not fit like the originals. (Experience) A lot of the aftermarket replacement parts leave a lot to be desired. That's what keeps the small Mom and Pop Chrome shops in business.

Anyway have fun

i I was told by the guy who did sand blasting to use duck tape and blankets and cardboard to cover the glass so which i did. The chrome trim that was left on the car was basically only the vent windows and was covered with the tape and card board too no direct spray was ever supplied toward it only near it and the 2 layers of card board and 10+ layers of duct tape took it very well.

I was always taught to apply body filler as much directly to metal as possible. I tend to even when doing body work sand to metal and apply body fillers and primer afterwards. I'm just saying that I'm going for black paint job so looking for straightness and even gaps. My plan was places where u see has mounds of old filler from back in 66 apparently someone didnt even try to pull dents they just packed It on. Well kept it there as reference it's a coming off will replace lower full quarter patchs and patch on small holes. But if I find myself epoxy 1st I also see myself sanding away most of my epoxy protection for welding and also when I block down the rage gold with 80 in spots..
