I use Cromax solvent. With Cromax 6000 the correct way is to do the lighter (1/2) coat first and then a full wet coat.

With Cromax waterborne the technique that is currently recommended is the opposite, but the first coat is not heavy, nor aiming for full coverage, while the (2nd) control coat is applied from a much greater distance.
