I am looking to buy a vehicle which has brushed-on paint. What is the best way to fix this? Or is it even worth fixing? Should I remove it and repaint?
|
That really depends on;
What type of finish are you wanting? Is this a rock crawler that you are going to be driving around in the back woods or is it a new C8 Vette that someone snuck out the door? What shape is the body in? Rust bucket POS or pristine show car survivor that some meth head got a hold of? What car/truck is it? Back to the Rock Crawler or C8 or ??? What type of paint was "rolled" on? Latex house paint? Lacquer? Basecoat/Clearcoat? PLEASE post photos! Sent by the random thoughts from the voices in my head...

with the work hes shown here, id guess the paint jobs probably insanely badass. done in latex,of course. |
Many times the OP disappears after the answer he receives isn't the one he was hoping for.

He painted the truck with stove paint he had sitting around. I just had a long conversation with the owner of the truck. Some of the conversation concerned the truck. I think after this conversation I will look elsewhere for my purchase. The truck is a 20 footer. It looks good at 20 feet or farther.

I would still love to see a photo of it.
And truly, it depends on what you plan on doing with the truck. Ranch truck beater? Who cares? Daily driver? Pass. Though I doubt you are going to get a "20 footer" with the words Stove Paint and Roller in the conversation. Sent by the random thoughts from the voices in my head...
