If I need to address an imperfection on one of my coats. What grit should I use, and wouldn't the sanding cause that spot to be duller than the rest of the paint job? Thanks in advance.

The tech sheet for your Base should tell you what grit they recommend.
Of course everything depends on how bad your imperfection is.

A piece of dust can be lightly sanded out with 1200 and the area resprayed and then the next coat of base applied.

Dragging the hose across the wet base will require a bit more.
