Hey folks.
After some guidance, i have a door that i did not paint strip and is going from bright red to satin black.
I have stripped all the finish off the outside and completed the external panel work and finished up in two pack primer.
Im ready to flip the door over and clean the inner door area.
If i scuff the original 2k red finish with a marroon pad and accidently go through to metal at any stage, do I have to prime that area in 2k or can I, if it is only a small break throug, use single stage acrylic in a spray can to prep the area before painting in 2k black

It's unlikely that you'll rub through just with a Scotchbrite pad but if you get a spot or two then the spray can stuff will be fine.
For a colour change on a door I usually scuff with grey Scotch then do a single coat of epoxy or a 2K WOW sealer which I tint to the correct Value Shade. Either will take care of any small breakthroughs/chips/scratches and won't need sanding, which is a PITA in areas like this. Then colour and clear. Chris

So epoxy primer is okay over paint?

Absolutely. Best bonding ever!
