I think just about anything as long as it's clean and has some depth. Blue or black 55 gal food poly barrels are cheap. You could use an open top one or dehead a closed model.....if you needed more room but less depth you could saw one right down the middle making two tanks. That poly barrel material comes nice and clean and does not react with anything. And yeah, old iron tubs from tear outs would be fine.....
