I have read that the color of your primer can change your final color if using metallic or pearl.Does this hold true to light solid colors.I am shooting a light blue solid color and if I can, try to keep it on the lighter side.I am thinking about a base coat of white before the blue.Just don't know if its worth all the extra work.thanks in advance, tom south Florida

Yes, the colour does matter, particularly if doing repairs and needing to match an existing colour.
You can spray a coat of the required colour in base coat or you can just use a primer or sealer that is the correct shade, which is no extra work. Chris
