Never seal or wax fresh paint. Paint continues to harden for up to 3 months and releases solvent vapours during this time. Sealing prevents these vapours escaping and can lead to delamination of the paint in extreme cases.

Use a polish only. This will provide protection but, more importantly, allow the solvents to escape.

Once the paint has hardened don't bother with waxes. They don't last long and offer minimal protection. A quality polymer polish will give much longer lasting protection and maintain the shine.
