Sorry to change the subject but do any of you know of a auto clear or other
clear coating that will hold to bare aluminum?
I'd sure like to know what these these new boats have on the bare aluminum
that keeps them from oxidizing.
Once it wears off the aluminum looks terrible.

so while trying to remove the decals, and then the adhesive, it looks as though the boat ya beeen painted with lacquer. i used lacquer thinner to soften the adhesive, and a razor blade to scrape it off, ant the paint is coming of and looking like rubber from an old balloon!! as soon as the thinner dries, the paint feels like plastic and crumbles. guess i’m sanding ALL down to bare aluminum. fml
