Under hood and deck lid question.......

The 50 year old paint still looks good under the hood and deck lid.

Can I shoot base coat and clear over it with out primer sealer?

If it's 50 years old then chances are that it's nitrocellulose or, more likely, acrylic. I'd seal it first, regardless, although you can always try a small spot to see if it reacts.

A sealer reduction of epoxy primer first would be a good choice.
It'll seal it and increase adhesion.

The data sheet for the shop line epoxy primer sealer says you can reduce the mix with 10% acetone.
Is that what you mean??
