Touch up paint

If I add 50% base coat and 50% clear with a bit of hardener will that make a good touchup paint for a small chip. Not to metal but primer showing.

Why not just touch up with the basecoat and then add
clearcoat? You can then apply more clear to get it level with the existing paint. If it's a metallic or pearl, the mixing together won't look right. "If you can't move it, paint it." - U.S. Army
