Dry color before clear coat?

Does it matter if your color coat dries before you put on the clear coat. I read somewhere you should only wait 30 minutes or the clear coat won't stick well. I don't have the clear coat here now.

do you have the tech sheet for the color? if not you should get it ( usually you can get it on line). it will tell you how long you have to put the clear on usually around 24 hrs., but not always. if you go past his time you'll most likely have to spray another coat of base then the clear. the tech sheet will tell you what you need to do .

Most base coats require 30 minutes MINIMUM before clear.
A little longer is better. Most problems in paint is from rushing the process. JC.
