Is this normal? It's base coat but I don't know if this is correct or not?

If not... Whaf could be the cause?

Looks like maybe put on to thick, did you reduce it?

What speed activator or reducer are you using?
Temperatures?

Base coat should look like this when sprayed:

Yeah reduced at 1:1 as the tech sheet. It's a base coat

Il try it thinner.... Maybe the cold weather isn't helping.

As long as I know I wasn't sure if it was a gun setting

Temperatures are ten degrees... I'm warming the panel up with a halogen light and letting it flash with halogen light too

Is it worth warning up the reducedr? Been advised not to warm a base coat up before but never known if warming the reduced is an option?

Also... Sorry just thought. High pressure equals cold temperatures don't it.... So when 30psi comes out the gun. The temperature of the panel becomes irrelevant as the paint is probably close to freezing.. Does that sound about right?

Thats 50 deg. Fahrenheit, use a fast reducer and it should go on real nice. your doing something else wrong. most bases are 1 to 1 so that should be ok. are you using the proper reducer for your base?

Hi Baddix

Its coming out of the gun like this though... its not like its bubbling after, its like its not laying flat on spray so not sure if a fast reducer would make a difference(correct me If im wrong?)

I say 10 degrees Baddix, its -2 outside, when I am in the garage I have the heaters on but they don't do much, I think 10 is me being generous! probably 5 degrees more like which is 41F!

i mean I will try make the paint a bit thinner anyway and see what I get! heating the panel just seems useless now I think about it, as its just coming out like this to begin with.

do a little experiment and reduce it just a little more than the 1-1 do 4oz to 5oz reducer. try that, if its still not coming out smooth turn the air pressure up 10 - 15 psi and see what that does. in the picture it almost looks like the color isn't mixing with the reducer. normally when a problem like this happens the spray is more even with orange peel heavy sometimes or a dry spray look. BUT normally its uniform in your picture it looks like large globs scattered all over. do you know what the pressure is AT THE GUN. THIS IS WITH THE TRIGGER PULLED WIDE OPEN.
