Hi

Bit random, but after i painted a lovely practice panel and then 2 days later dropped some reducer on it (probably about a quarter of cups worth) and it was there for 15 mins or so before I noticed.

But I noticed the painted start bubbling under, now I know this is a chemical that will attack paint, but should it??? i thought that after 2 days the paint should of been nice and set and resistant ?

was this due to me doing a bad paint job? or is this just what happens when you drop reducer on a 2 day freshly painted panel?

Im just curious to wether this should of happened anyway, and is my paint job going to be flaking off with in 12 months if the reducer made it come off that quick?

this is with base coat and a 2k laquer clear coat.

That's normal.
It takes a lot more than 2 days for the paint to fully set and
even then letting reducer set on it is going to be a problem.
You'll have to completely remove all that area and start over to
be sure it will last. :(

Ha in fine with that!

I just thought... Hang on should it come off this easy? Have I done somet wrong anyway?

Thankfully just some test panels but was just worried how easy it just came off that I had laid the paint wrong

Thanks for the reply!
