I just picked up the paint today and will start laying down colour by the end of the week.
The tech sheet for the paint says, "This base coat may be activated with activator at 1 ounce to RTS quart base coat for improved mechanical properties"
Are they talking better adhesion to the primer surface or maybe the clear coat?
Also the tech sheet recommends 20-24psi at the gauge but my gun wants 35psi at the gauge, which one do I listen to, split the difference?
Thanks

Activating base does improve adhesion and also improves chip resistance....but only if the paint thickness is kept low.
Test your gun on some paper at the different pressures and see the difference. Chris

Activating base as mentioned already helps with adhesion, chip resistance, and a long list of other things, always a good idea Experienced Trained Certified
