I screwed up, I got a little too close while spraying the gas tank door and created a thick run with blobs in it then I brushed up against the paint while I was fretting over the blobs.
So should I wait until it drys then nib file it, sand and re spray?
I have never had to fix the colour coat before so kind of panicking. I finished spraying about an hour ago so I think I have to get this fixed within 23hrs so I can still clear.
Thanks

Yep, block it smooth and respray your base.
I would scuff the entire panel and rebase it all if it were me,
maybe go over it with a gray scuff pad first.

Thanks JC, after blocking with 600 there was still some indentations that were lower than the rest of the basecoat but extra layers of clearcoat managed to fill them in pretty well.

Lots of little dust particles but they should come out when I start sanding with 1200.

Awesome little car. I had one in the mid '70s, 4 door. Marketed as the "1600" here.

In the days when we still had unregulated speed limit roads that thing would sit on 160km/h all day, IRS gave it great handling and even I could do mechanical repairs.
