I pulled out a can of (first letter S, second letter P, third letter I) epoxy primer activator and it's a different color than it used to be. Very dark. The consistency is the same and shaking it makes no difference.

Anyone seen this and is it no longer usable?

:Uh Oh what's changed since my last visit to this forum. Are certain brands not allowed to be mentioned??????

(Yes, it's childish moderators at work, on both sides.)

I've used their activator like that with no problems, but to be sure, just mix a
thimble full size of the epoxy and see if it sets up.
I use 1 oz medicine cups for stuff like that.

I am a Long time user of that MFG's Product and have some very old stuff still on the shelf that I am still using.
Yes the activator will Darken, Yes I have used it that way and yes it still Kicks off and works as advertised. As long as cans have been sealed tight you should be fine. as suggested mix up a batch see if it kicks off and hardens.

Cans should be sealed back up with Bloxegen or Nitrogen or Gas from a Mig welder before closing to keep it good and last on the shelf.

Out of curiosity how long has yours been sitting?
I mean seriously if its 3-5 years old or more???? C'mon you know?
You cant expect miracles with any Paint that old.

Just used some that was 3 years old. Looked dark orange but the epoxy set up just fine.
I wouldn't recommend using stuff that old but thought I would give it a try just to see.

Appreciate all the responses. Familiar names from the old days that are still posting and helping people..... good for you guys. :goodjob:

Yea it still kicks but I'm gonna buy some fresh as there wasn't much left anyway.

I did call the place that can no longer be mentioned(lol) and they said pretty much the same thing you all did.
