NEVER EVER USE PLAY SAND IT CONTAINS SILICA IN IT!!!!!!

Silica causes Silicosis!!!!! IT doesn't take much more than a Pin head of the crap to get into your lungs and cause Silicosis of the Lungs!

Glass Blast contains Zero Silica and is $11-$14 a 50 lb bag even in my area, Your life isnt worth a few extra Bucks? seriously Don't use Sand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its not worth it!

Hmm... I was going to use silicone carbide dust that I already have... I should try the glass!

I must admit, I got so into it that I sorta have not purchased the sandblaster. My guys at the shop said with those pits i'll probably end putting holes in the roof and to just epoxy over them...

I did buy a much more powerful angle grinder and grabbed some old school good quality norton 24 grit discs which helped a ton, but man i'm going so deep into the roof that its causing the metal to become unstable and warming on its own.

I got each spot down as clean as I could and then epoxied over. On the spots that got totally clean without much issue I used ever coat filler, then epoxy over that.

Not that I don't trust people on here... I will be trying to sandblaster soon but I want to test the epoxy theory. Next summer I will be re coating the roof, and I will grind into a couple spots under the epoxy to see how it looks. I figure the car will only be around another 5 years tops so even if it does come back... as long as it comes back SLOWLY!

your guys at the SHOP gave you some BAD info. sand blasting is the BEST and painting over rust is a waste of time and materials. so what if you blow a small pin hole you can fill it. much better than painting over the rust.
