Could anyone point me in the right direction of finding a color variant deck? Or more so even for a specific color? (PS2 bright silver metallic)
Body work is a hobby of mine and I still have a lot to learn but just trying to get a perfect match on my truck

Most major paint companies produce colour cards/chips/decks for their main basecoat lines.

However, the number of cards for variants of any particular colour is usually only a fraction of the total number of variants for which there are formulae.

For example, in my Axalta system I have more than 130 variants for a common Toyota silver, but there are only four colour cards.

They are a tool which can help in the process of matching a colour but not the final answer. To get a (near) perfect match you need to start by taking a spectrophotometer reading of the paint you have then using that to narrow down the possibilities. Likely candidates' formulae need to be mixed and then sprayed out. From there final adjustments need to be done by eye and confirmed with spray out cards, again.

Even after all that the new colour should be blended into adjacent panels.

That's my biggest challenge on my repair work, getting the right variant.
It's hard because even with the color chips they look different by just the
angle you look at it with most colors.
Viewing them with a "sun" gun helps but it's still difficult getting the right one.
And then there's the color change by how much pressure you use at the gun
when you spray it.
Even getting it right, you still need to blend, just clearing existing color
can make it different. :(

Spot on, JC.

You can have the original paint, spray it differently and get a different effect.

Then the clear coat changes the color even more.
