Well I thought I was being very careful about buffing, but I did have just one spot that I just took a little too far. Im thinking that area was a bit too light of base coat and clear. So can I use an airbrush and touchup paint and lightly clear the small 1x2 inch mistake?

In a word, no.

Using an airbrush for base will lay the metallic flake down differently so it will be visible as an area that doesn't match. Blending in clear on the top of a guard is something that even I wouldn't try.

Sorry, but that's a respray.
