Dru Blair is in a whole different world than refinishing. He is definitely top of his game in illustration though.

Thanks again for chatting. I'm sure we will talk again.

He has a fully equipped auto refinishing section in his new place. I've been there and took courses. He deals with Foose and numerous other refinishing techs. You are misinformed or have never been there. You probably don't know he often has other artists and techs from various fields teach at his school.

I really don't know much about art, airbrushing, pinstriping, hand lettering or painting countless bikes and cars with candies. I still do not know anything about custom fabrication in my fully equipped shop. Not sure how I'm still self employed after all these years. The amount of misinformation provided by some on this "one zero one site" 101 just boggles the mind.

I never talked with you Dave. I never got a phone call from you. I do not participate on screen much anymore. I have to deal with my walk in customers or speak with people on the phone. The qualified techs I deal with who once posted here gave up.

And Just what in your mind makes a Qualified Tech?

Well apparently you have to write a check to attend a 2 day course at Dru Blair’s school.
Then once Chip Foose makes a paid appearance you will then be qualified.

You know that guy… “chip drew” a car on papers and the guys behind the scenes did the work while he talked to the camera.

Oh ya that guy who takes a car out of the Junk yard and his team turns it into $100K+ custom in two weeks oh ya that's all quality workmanship! I saw it on TV!!!!!! and I read about that guy online! That guy works for the super rich that wright checks they know what they are looking at or they wouldn't write those big checks! they know its quality buy how much they Pay you know.

So all I have to do is spend a bunch of money go to one of these TV, Magazine, Guys classes then get Foose to say I know what I am doing then I will be considered a Top notch Tech here on 101? Boy if I had only known that 30 years ago !

I guess my Aero space engineering, federal Licenses, 30+ years in aviation or my 30+ years of experience building fixing rebuilding and painting Jets, cars and trucks means squat ****! What the hell would I know I am just a Hack on 101.

Scott, some of us are wondering why you are even here? You provide no value to this site, and you seem to enjoy disparaging others for what seems like no other reason than to try to make yourself look better.

Or, if you really want to help DIYers here, maybe provide some of that deep knowledge you have from running that custom shop for the last 40 years with all of those happy customers, and the admiration of all those qualified techs you 'deal with' ?

I won't hold my breath ; )
