OK before I get grilled on this...
I polished some misty headlights. 400/800/1200/1600/2000/2500/3000
Then sprayed a standard 2k clear coat...
Looked amazing for two days.
Then this happened
Is this purely down to heat from the light baking the headlight and clear. And the clear not being the right thing for the job?
I just want to check before I spend a day sanding all this clear off and starting again
Headlight polish and clear

It looks like condensation. Hard to tell from the picture.
Is it on the outside or inside? Is it wet/soft or hardened? Did you use any type of plastic polish or just sandpaper before clear coating? 1968 Coronet R/T

Hi...i think you are very much right! It has reduced by half since I posted the thread and has properly everporated. To touch its totally smooth and perfect and hard. I will remove a headlight... Remove the rubber seal and let it dry out inside. My initial reaction was panic that I had melted the plastic but if that was the case I would of felt it straight away |
