I have a large amount of vinyl I need to redye, buying the spray cans is not my goal at $7-8 a can. Based on the small piece I did spray took 3 cans and at that rate , I’ll need about 25 cans to do the job. Reupholstering is not in the cards
I understand they now have a flexible paint for vinyl/leather in bulk ? I have not had much success finding this stuff. Any idea where to get it ?

Yes, there is a vinyl/plastic binder in the Cromax range.

Works great but, in my experience is better suited to harder surfaces like plastics rather than very flexible surfaces like sheets of vinyl.

To be honest, from the explanation given, I'd be more inclined to replace.

So where on the car/truck is your vinyl? I might have a suggestion for you if it isn't an area that receives a lot of movement/compression.

Got it.... pic.s are pretty easy here. When you go to reply and see your white reply box open just scroll down to that dark blue box about midway down the page. You will see 2 tabs to your left with one being dark blue and marked Upload Attachment. When you hit that you will see a Browse tab which will let you pull pic.s from anywhere in your computer. Select the pic. and it will be placed in your reply along with the opportunity to put some text descriptions right under that picture.
Okay, cool, working on some handbuilt collectable booths in our restoration shop at the moment also. What I'll be using on these removable vinyl upholstered panels is this stuff.....
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000K27I26/?c ... g_dp_it_im It ain't cheap either but it is some very nice and tough stuff. If you are trying to get "red" I would
buy the same stuff in their tint base which is this......
https://www.amazon.com/SEM-15546-Tintin ... B000K27I26 You could then do some experimentation to get what you want.
So, bottom line on a few things about what you are trying.....there is no such thing as a vinyl "dye" since the original color of the vinyl is cast through the vinyl. When you are attempting to recolor you are essentially applying a highly flexible paint. So the real rub on all of this is how much your vinyl is going to flex when in use. And that my friend is the great unknown. The booths I am working on have upholstery panels applied more like a cars door panel so I don't have much flex to deal with......

I used to use PPG vinyl dyes and Paints they had a full line for doing interior stuff like seats.
Worked great on the Boats I was doing years ago haven't used the stuff since.
I have a Project coming up that will get the treatment.

Yep, used to use that stuff as well. PPG jobbers are just hard to deal with around here anymore so I started using more of the SEM stuff....

I purchase my SEM Color Coat by the quarts from 66 Auto Color.

If you don't see a certain color they can mix up a quart no problem. Real easy guys to work with.

I shoot it with either an LPH-80 or the Iwata Impact Jr.
