This end goes toward the trunk panel and has more severe pitting, it is mainly visible when the trunk is open.

Here's the tail panel I purchased. It is much better than my original which has heavy pitting and a hole.

Jim If I am not mistaken those are made from Pot metal correct?
The pitting needs to be ground out then filled I have been using Muggy weld "Super Alloy 1" with some success super low melting point bonds really well can be sanded machined and polished and plated over.

I do not know How Dave handles the Pitting ? He probably grinds it out and Just uses Filler Much more Stable in my opinion. Just depends On how you want it done.

Yes, they are pot metal.

I have seen the Muggy Weld videos and it looks to be a fairly easy product to apply.

I don't know much about Pot Metal, how it expands or contracts with temperature, it's corrosive properties, etc.

If the pitting isn't too severe, maybe just fill it with epoxy primer?
