So.. I got 1 coat of epoxy 840r on when i finally got the chance since then it's literally rained nearly every day with humidity being like 90-100% it's actually not good...

I've sprayed epoxy a few times now and i had it uncovered for like 1-2 years and didn't see one sign of rust before but i did get a nice few coats on it

But i think because i only got a sealer coat on then the weather messed me up bad..

So my question.. Is this paint job stuffed? Or can i just sand back the little pins of rust and get a nice soild 1-2 coats of epoxy ontop of it and it should stop and kill the tiny bits of rust that where trying to form?

I didn't get to put another coat on, If i knew rust would come thru i would of tried my best to get another coat on but considering i've sprayed this before and never had problems after 1-2 years i didn't think to much of it, But yeah this coat was only enough to cover it it was a tad light in some area's and it's showing. I'm stressing now

I really hope i don't have to strip this all back again..

I actually did not think this was rust at first because i used a scotch brite just really light and it does not look like there's rust directly on the metal but you can see on the photos those tinys pins of rust in the paint? If anyone could give me some advice would be great.

Rust needs to be removed. If you simply cover it up, it will continue to eat away at the metal, especially if there are pin holes providing oxygen.

Well to clarify the metal was blasted and was clear then it was coated but yeah then i didn't get it thick enough leaving pin holes but ofcourse when i scuff it up and give this a nice good 2 coats of epoxy there will be nothing providing the rust with oxygen.. Like i know rust is not good but i hope you understand the situation, I had no choice but to only just get a sealer coat on and the high humidity was just a bad recipe..

So it's not like i'm trying to spray straight over rust spots or serious rust, I just wanted to clarify that.

You really don't think if i cover it up the tiny pins of rust/airholes, You don't think that tiny bit of rust will die?

To strip this entire engine bay back over again will be an absolute nightmare.

I cant see anything in that one Pic ?

I do see what looks like a couple rust Pits BUT I cant see anything in them at that angle the pic was taken from.

That said If YOU CAN SEE Rust poking threw Your done stop strip and redo.
Make sure its not coming threw from the Back side as well !

Rust eats cars from the inside out a Lot of people do not realize or know this and only treat the out side that they can see and get too,
Treating the Back side is just as important if not more important as the Top side.
